About Us
Historic Connections
Percy's Café Americana is the latest evolution of a family tradition in this location
that has lasted 32 years.
Percy Howell, successful restaurateur since 1945, and father of owner Pat Kroetch,
opened the "Golden Hour" here in 1968.
In 1984, after several years of "legendary" success as the "Golden Hour", Percy's
daughter Pat and husband Greg bought the restaurant from Pat's father and christened it
"Percy's" in his honor.
Pat and Greg continue the tradition and in January of 1999, another new beginning took
place with the opening of Percy's Café Americana! ~ a testament to family
entrepreneurial spirit!
Accolades
Our wonderful recipes are the product of family, friends, and our superb chefs over the
years. Some of our chefs' creations from the 70's, 80's, 90's and now, still prevail on the menu as
favorites ~ "French Peppercorn Steak" our "Penne Pasta with Roasted Garlic Cream Sauce",
"Lemon Chicken Saute", and of course our now famous "Summer Soup" from our first
restaurant, "The Bread Basket", in the early 70's.
